Ethics and Accountability

Think Global Flight is a dba (“doing business as”) name registered in 2010 for Careers in Aviation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization established in 2003. The loss of one donor’s confidence is one too many.  Think Global Flight offers this opportunity to showcase its exemplary core values of accountability and transparency.


Careers in Aviation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, was established in 2003.  As approved and established in 2010, Think Global Flight earned the respect for (dba) Fictitious Name, as doing business in accordance with the IRS. Think Global Flight’s fiscal year starts in January and ends in December.  All involved with the program are volunteers, including the Crew.  
Think Global Flight’s priorities are encouraging and fostering the international exchange of information among industry, professional associations, government agencies, and the educational community, growing and  a greater awareness for the capabilities of the applications for science, technology, engineering, and math (S.T.E.A.M.) education as related to the aviation and aerospace disciplines.

TGF-transparency-2016.pngThe goals and objectives include bringing a Think Global awareness for the boundless opportunities within the aviation and aerospace industries to the classrooms across the world; spanning the Earth bridging classrooms across the globe through the use of virtual venues for all ages and economic backgrounds; creating a greater awareness for the importance of the S.T.E.A.M. disciplines; empowering parents with their child’s educational development through a greater awareness of S.T.E.A.M. education as related to aviation and aerospace; and increasing the number of students across the globe, interested in and inspired by aviation and aerospace, especially among under-represented groups such as girls and minorities as they follow the Think Global Flight Crew on their journey around the Earth.

All of the donations go directly toward education or the global flight with in-kind donations representing over 85% of the total.  Aircraft donation, flight planning services, and travel expenses reflect the largest percentage of in-kind donations.  Communication tools, marketing materials, web and app services, aircraft fuel, educational outreach efforts, and, when not available through in-kind donations, travel expenses are directed toward cash donations.
